A major component to sustaining a base that can provide protection and plenty of materials and food is putting focus on the technology one unlocks. Technology can be unlocked after every Player Level increases , by receiving several Technology Points. Using them is permanent, meaning once they are spent, the purchase cannot be reversed. Players also get one Technology Point per Fast Track checkpoint unlocked.
One of the more useful materials in the game, both early on and throughout the later stages, is cloth. Cloth is used to create clothes that help stave off freezing temperatures.
