Palworld is a survival RPG with farming, base building, and crafting mechanics that have been shown off in its latest trailer, where friendly Pals help farm crops and build a rocket. Players will also apparently be able to put Pals to work in factories and mines for them, so it would appear that there’s some aspect of automation and optimization to these mechanics. Palworld has the opportunity to take them much farther than Pokémon Legends: Arceus did, although the mention of ” dismantling ” Pals on the Steam page paints a somewhat disturbing picture of exactly how far. Regardless, the RPG mechanics appear to be one of the biggest differences between Palworld and Pokémon , and may be the area where Palworld ** can most improve on Pokémon Legends: Arceus
What makes Palworld so unique compared to other survival and creature-catching games is the reliance on these Pals to help get work done around the base. Whether it’s chopping down trees, mining for stone and ore, or planting seeds to grow some red berries, these Pals will assist with jobs — but only if they possess the necessary traits. To do this, pick up the Pal and throw it on the job that it can work on, and it will immediately begin to put in the labor.
As Tanzee is so useful in and out of the base, it’s good to have at least one of these pals on hand. They are a bit trickier to capture, but once you have a few, they can be divided to cover a lot of work!
One of the more unfortunate (and hilarious) aspects of the Meat Cleaver is the fact that it replaces the Pet command with the Butcher command, both of which are two entirely different things. Implementing the butchering process in this way poses an obvious problem when the Meat Cleaver is equipped, as those who regularly pet their Pals may butcher them by mistake fairly easily. These spheres have a near-perfect catching probability, with most Pals failing to escape its clutches. Of all the different items in Palworld , perhaps the most brutal one is the Meat Cleaver. A knife created to butcher Pals, the Meat Cleaver replaces the “Pet” command in Palworld with the “Butcher” command ** . As described by the item in-game, Pals are removed from the game entirely once butchered** . This element starkly contrasts with getting knocked out, which is what usually happens when Pal’s HP is reduced to zero.
