Predator: Hunting Grounds is in an interesting spot right now, as the game has only released two weeks ago but with many players, this writer included, capped at level 100 with no more weapons or perks to unlock. The game is fantastic and worth playing solely for its gameplay, but will that be enough to sustain a player base in a game that cannot exist without a healthy number of Fireteam and Predator players? No, it is not, and that is why we are so excited and hopeful to see what Illfonic has in store for its year-long road
Given his offensive playstyle, survivors will most likely be healing quite often when facing a well versed Oni player. This allows Oni to mesh well with the powerful “nurse’s calling” perk which can be taught to the Killer. This allows Oni to see when survivors are healing nearby. Given Oni’s desire to constantly be doing damage to survivors this will be a common occurrence during the course of matches. Utilizing this perk can truly build on his strengths as a kil
To mitigate Legion’s slow starts to matches using perks such as Barbeque and Chili can allow the Killer necessary recon to get things going in his favor as well. This allows Legion to see Survivor’s in a nearby radius after he hooks a Survivor. A powerful ability that allows him to truly begin his pressure. Nurses’ Calling also synergizes extraordinarily well with his Deep Wound ability, as Survivors are forced to heal and mend the status effect away, allowing this Killer to maintain extraordinary pressure on a group of Surviv
Ultimately, a major part of that feeling comes down to what each player expects to get out of a match, and even then, the outcome is often out of their control as these are online PvP matches. For some, victory is doing their best with the resources they have, which amounts to their teammates. For other players, anything less than total victory is unacceptable, which is why some survivors or Fireteam members leave a match the moment something does not go their
The Shrine
The Shrine is fundamentally used to unlock ‘Teachable Perks’ that are available every week. Around midnight every Wednesday, The Shrine resets itself and there are four new ‘Teachable Perks’ available for purchase for the next 7 days. Teachable Perks are basically used to unlock the possibility to receive unique perks for characters while in the Bloodweb. Even though these perks can be unlocked at level 30-40 by simply partaking in the Bloodweb, The Shrine is a good alternative by purchasing them with ‘Iridescent Shards.’ These shards can be collected by completing trails and slowly building them up. The higher the player’s level, the more shards will be rewarded. When these perks appear in the Shrine, they cost around 2,000-2,700 Iridescent Shards. Thus, special characters can be purchased in The Shrine for 9,000 shards, along with cosmetics with a varying price ra
The Demogorgon is allowed 6 portals to be in the arena at a time. This allows the killer a wide variety of options to dominate the map space and to lock down certain key areas of the map. The portals are invisible to survivors until they have been “activated” which then allows survivors the chance to destroy the portals. To activate a portal a Demogorgon simply has to travel to that portal from another portal, this activates both of the portals used to travel. Once activated the tunnels become visible to the survivors and can be destroyed. However, once activated the Demogorgon has the ability to see a survivor’s aura once they are close to an activated portal. This provides the creature with some powerful recon abilities in a ma
Every killer in dead By daylight Dlc by Daylight has their unfortunate downsides. Each killer has a very real and difficult to overcome assortment of weaknesses attached to their kit. The Oni is no different, so understanding his weaknesses can allow players to adapt and mitigate the number of mistakes made during the course of a ma
A solid strategy when using the Demogorgon is to place a portal at every generator or major location across a map. This allows the killer to have access to any location that a survivor may deem as advantageous. On top of this accessibility, the Demogorgon can activate each of these portals to essentially have a full surveillance camera to watch over these key areas. This allows the killer to lock down any offensive attempts made by the survivors and to excel at dominating the online ar
When playing the Oni, it is imperative that you utilize his blood meter mechanic. The ability known as Yamaoka’s Wrath, encourages Oni players to injure as many survivors as possible. For when the Oni strikes a survivor they drop blood droplets that can be used to increase his powerful blood meter. As the Oni hunts down the various survivors in a match he will accumulate more and more blood droplets thus increasing his damage potent
The second move the Oni is given once he increases his blood meter fully is the rapid Demon Dash. This ability grants the Oni the ability to rapidly sprint and cover long distance. So coupled with the devastating Demon Strike this ability turns an already powerful offensively oriented killer into one which is all but avoidable. This ability allows the Oni to very quickly sprint towards opponents and provides a melee attack at the end of the sprint. This melee strikes can also down a survivor in one hit if it’s allowed to connect and is a powerful weapon in the Oni’s vast arse
